Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Lakeshore Santa Claus Parade, traditionally held on the first Saturday of December, had to be cancelled this year.

Today, November 11th 2020, we mark Remembrance Day in Canada and the sacrifices made by our military during the many conflicts Canada has been involved in.
Canadians have a long tradition of joining its allies in conflicts when required and to successfully fight in many difficult situations in order that we all may enjoy the freedoms that we enjoy today.

Alex Trebek, the long time host of Jeopardy! has passed away at the age of 80 after a 20 month fight with pancreatic cancer.
Mr. Trebek was born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada on July 22nd, 1940 and grew up speaking both official languages of Canada – English and French. He would graduate from the University of Ottawa with a degree in Philosophy.
His first break was with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) filling in for other announcers.
From 1971 to 1972, he hosted the local morning talk show on the CBC Toronto radio station. Continue reading
Famed actor Geoffrey Palmer has passed away at the age of 93. He was born on June 4th, 1927 in London England.
After completing national service from 1946 to 1948 he would work as an unpaid stage manager prior to turning to acting. Continue reading
Famed Scottish actor Sir Sean Connery has passed away at the age of 90.
Sir Sean was born on August 25th, 1930 in Edinburgh, the son of Joseph Connery and Euphemia “Effie” McBain McLean. He is also part Irish.
October 31st, 2020 has been declared ‘John Candy Day’ in Toronto in honour of what would have been the comedian’s 70th birthday.
John Candy was born on October 31st, 1950 in Newmarket, Ontario, and grew up in East York, now part of the City of Toronto. He came to fame as a comedian as a member of the Canadian version of the SCTV series.

The 116th World Series is set to start tonight, October 20th, 2020 between American League Pennant winners, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the National League Pennant winners, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this will be the first ever World Series to use a neutral site – Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, and only the second time that all games will be played in one stadium. Continue reading

As this is the second Monday in October, I would like to wish everyone in Canada a Happy Thanksgiving.
This may be a very different type of Thanksgiving this year, I do think we need something nice to celebrate.
Thanksgiving traditionally marks the end of the harvest season in Canada and has been celebrated in Canada since 1879 and the date varied each year until 1957.
Let’s discuss the history of Thanksgiving in Canada:
The Condominium Authority of Ontario (CAO) has announced that starting today, October 1st 2020, that the Condominium Authority Tribunal (CAT) can now hear cases revolving more than just issues relating to condominium records.
The Tribunal can now hear cases dealing with pets in condominiums, vehicles & parking related issues, storage issues, and compensation with regards to these issues.
