Last Day of Service for the CLRV on the 501 Queen

Today, August 31st 2019, marks the end of an era for the Toronto Transit Commission’s Canadian Light Rail Vehicle (CLRV) streetcars:

Today marks the last fay of scheduled service for the CLRV along the western portion of their 501 Queen line, which is the former 507 Long Branch car.

The day comes with some irony as the first CLRV streetcars to enter revenue service did so on September 30th 1979 in service on the 507 Long Branch!

    CLRVs will still continue to operate along the 506 College/Carlton and 511 Bathurst routes for the next couple of months, until more of the new low-floor Flexity Outlook streetcars arrive.
