The Quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup is now set.
Co-hosts Canada, Mexico, and the United States were eliminated in the Round of 32 (to Morocco, England, and Belgium, respectfully.) The big shock, at least to me, was Norway’s win over five time champions, Brazil. Switzerland is making their fourth ever appearance in the Quarterfinals and are hoping to making it to the Semifinals for the first time at the World Cup.
Four of the teams have previously won the World Cup: Argentina (defending and three time winners), France (two times), England and Spain (one time each.)
The Quarterfinals will be played over three days (July 9th-11th.)
The following teams made it to the Quarterfinals:
Argentina
Belgium
England
France
Morocco
Norway
Spain
Switzerland
The match-ups for the Quarterfinals are:
France vs. Morocco
Spain vs. Belgium
Norway vs. England
Argentina vs. Switzerland
Look for Argentina, England, France, and Spain to advance to the Semi-finals.
