
Canada has has a successful Summer Olympics in Paris. Canada won 27 medals – Nine Gold, Seven Silver, and 11 Bronze Medals – in 15 different sports.
Team Canada won the most medals at a Summer Games with the 27 Medals.
In total, 315 athletes competed in 28 sports.
Andre De Grasse & Maude Charron were the Flag Bearers during the Opening Ceremonies, while Ethan Katzberg & Summer McIntosh were the Flag Bearers during the Closing Ceremonies.
Highlights of Canada’s appearance at the 2024 Summer Games includes:
- Summer McIntosh won three Gold Medals and a Silver Medal in Swimming.
- lya Kharun – Two Bronze Medals in Men’s 100 m butterfly and Men’s 200 m butterfly.
- Jerome Blake, Aaron Brown, Andre De Grasse, and Brendon Rodney won Gold in the 4X100m.
- Canada women’s national rugby sevens team – Silver Medal.
- Katie Vincent – Gold Medal in the Women’s C-1 200 metres Canoeing competition by 1/100th of a second.
- Ethan Katzberg – Gold Medal in Hammer Throwing.
- Camryn Rogers – Gold Medal in Hammer Throwing.
- Sloan MacKenzie and Katie Vincent – Bronze Medal in C-2 500 m (Canoeing.)
- Christa Deguchi – Gold Medal in Judo.
- Philip Kim – Gold Medal in Breaking.
- Abigail Dent, Caileigh Filmer, Kasia Gruchalla-Wesierski, Maya Meschkuleit, Sydney Payne, Jessica Sevick, Kristina Walker, and Avalon Wasteneys – Silver in Women’s Eight (Rowing.)
- Josh Liendo – Silver in Men’s 100 m butterfly.
- Maude Charron – Silver in Weightlifting.
- Melissa Humana-Paredes, and Brandie Wilkerson – Silver in Beach Volleyball.
- Marco Arop – Silver in Men’s 800m.
- Eleanor Harvey – Bronze in Fencing.
- Rylan Wiens and Nathan Zsombor-Murray – Bronze in Diving.
- Sophiane Méthot – Bronze in Women’s trampoline.
- Félix Auger-Aliassime and Gabriela Dabrowski – Bronze in Mixed Doubles.
- Kylie Masse – Bronze in Women’s 200 m backstroke.
- Wyatt Sanford – Bronze in Men’s 63.5 kg Boxing.
- Alysha Newman – Bronze in Women’s pole vault.
- Skylar Park – Bronze in Women’s 57 kg Taekwondo.
The Canadian Women’s soccer team was penalized 6 points for the ‘drone scandal’ but still managed to win all three games in the round robin to advance to the knockout stage before losing to Germany.
