Toronto’s Subway Turns 70

Today, March 30th, 2024, marks that 70th Birthday of Toronto’s subway system with the opening on the Yonge Line between Union Station and Eglinton.

The system would be extended over the years to see the Yonge Line extended to Finch Avenue to the north, and connected to another northly line from Union Station up University Avenue to St. George Station (Bloor St.) and then up to York Region, and the openings of the Bloor-Danforth Line and Sheppard Line.

So, Happy 70th Birthday to Toronto’s subway system!
