The 117th edition of the World Series is set to begin tonight in Houston.

The series features National League Pennant winners, Atlanta Braves, and American League Pennant winners, Houston Astros.

This is the fifth time that the two teams have met in the postseason, but the first time in the World Series. The previous five meetings came in the National League Division Series when the Astros were in the N.L. This also marks the second time that teams that have previously met in a divisional series have met in the World Series, following the 2017 World Series.

The Braves come into the World Series for the first time in 22 years, losing to the New York Yankees back in 1999. The Braves beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in six games. The Braves have won three World Series titles and this is their 10th appearance in the World Series.

The Astros are playing in the World Series for the third time in five years, and have one World Series win, back in 2017. This is their fourth appearance overall in the World Series, appearing once for the N.L. (2005) and three times for the A.L. (2017, 2019, 2021.) The Astros beat the Boston Red Sox in six games.

This is also the first time that both managers are over the age of 65. Dusty Baker is managing the Astros, while the Braves are managed by Brian Snitker.

Look for the Atlanta Braves to win the World Series in seven games!
