The Conference Finals for the NHL Playoffs are now set.
One Original Six Team remains as the Boston Bruins beat out the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round and then the Columbus Blue Jackets to make it to the Conference Finals.
No Canadian teams remain in the post-season and both teams in the Western Conference played seven game match-ups.
Let’s look at the match-ups:
Eastern Conference
Carolina Hurricanes vs. Boston Bruins
This is the fifth time that these two teams have met in the postseason, with the Bruins winning the first three series. The Hurricanes won the fourth meeting, 10 years ago. The Bruins won two out of the three regular season match-ups.
Look for the Hurricanes to beat out the Bruins in seven games.
Western Conference
St. Louis Blues vs. San Jose Sharks
The Blues have made the Conference Finals for the first time since 2016 and have not made the Stanley Cup Finals since 1970, and are looking for their first Stanley Cup title. The Sharks won two of the three meetings during the regular season, and three of the five times the two teams have met in the playoffs, including the last time in 2016 – which also took place in the Conference Finals.
Look for the Blues to win in six games.
Currently, I have made only two correct predictions this year, so let’s see what happens in this round.
