It has come out that one of the Toront0 Blue Jays most popular players, Munenori Kawasaki, has signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs.
Kawasaki may not have been the best player on the team – during his three partial seasons on the major league team he hit .244 with one home run, 123 hits, 43 RBI, eight stolen bases, 58 walks, and 96 strikeouts.
Kawasaki was a hit with the fans thanks to his enthusiasm and positive outlook.
During his stay in Toronto, Kawasaki would have two games that would help win over the fans during the 2013 season: first he hit walk off double in a game in May, and then the next month would hit what is so far his only MLB homerun, a two run shot to right field that tied the game at 6-6 late in a game.
While he will be missed in Toronto, I want to wish him all the best with the Cubs’ organization. They will certainly benefit from his positive attitude.
