We are now down to the final eight teams in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Let’s look at the teams in the round of eight:
Brazil (#3) vs. Colombia (#8)
France (#17) vs. Germany (#2)
Netherlands (#15) vs. Costa Rica (#28)
Argentina (#5) vs. Belgium (#11)
Seven of the teams are in the Top 20 ranked teams, while four are Top 10 teams. The only non-Top 20 team is Costa Rica.
Both Brazil and Costa Rica won their Group of 16 games in a penalty shootout, while Argentina, Belgium, and Germany won in extra time.
Look for a very competitive round. For example, the Netherlands have won all four games in tournament, but Costa Rica has been a surprise in this tournament and can be expected to be a tough competitor.
Belgium upset the USA in the Group of 16, while Germany won a hard fought game against Algeria.
In the last round, six of my predictions won. In this round I expect Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium to move on to the Semi-Finals. Let’s see what happens.
