End of an Era: Demolition of the Lakeshore Teachers’ College

Humber College has began tearing down Building A at its’ Lakeshore Campus.

The building was originally built in the 1950’s at the Lakeshore Teachers’ College. The college remained in operating from the 1950’s until the mid-1970’s when Humber College took over the building.

The building became Building A of Humber’s Lakeshore Campus.

Humber College is tearing down the building as part of a process to re-build the western end of Lakeshore Campus.

A couple of days ago I dropped by to get some pictures of the demolition. As an Alumni of Humber College, I had classes in Building A and have fond memories of the building so it is sad for me to see the demolition occurring.
